All my big hopes about drawing in colorful, unusual birds by setting out a lot of bird feeders (ok...I think I did over do it), sort of fizzled out over the weekend. On the one hand, I did manage to attract some unusual birds,...but by no means were they what I had in mind, as you can see from my photo:
These are some of the biggest wild turkeys I've ever seen. Once I recovered from my disappointment that they weren't that colorful, I had to admire their resourcefulness at finding food for themselves. Turns out there's about 200 of them living in the valley behind our house (what the neighbor told me), so I'm glad only a handful decided to show up. In all, was interesting to watch. Even when we let the dogs out and they barked at them, they just kept on eating the birdseed and totally ignored the dogs.
Today, I'm continuing the teaching on "Discipleship 101" and you can find it at http://growingasadiscipleofchrist-fionab.blogspot.com/

That is so funny that they ignored the dogs!!?? I guess they just didn't find your cute little dogs very intimidating! :)))
They just walked all over liked they owned the place. Sure wasn't what I was expecting to see when I looked out the window, hoping to see a nice big woodpecker or a cardinal!
