My dear friend, I understand so much more now, even as I strain to get my mind around the immune system not functioning properly, the many surgeries you had to endure, and the lifestyle which rssults from infusion therapy as a means to address the deficiency. My respect factor for you and your strength of character inspired of God has taken a great leap upwards. Mark56

Thanks, Mark for your kind words. Yes, it is an ordeal to deal with this on a daily basis. I feel blessed that I get to receive the medicine that I need and they finally figured out what was wrong with my immune system...was a long time coming!

Wow- I am sorry to read all the struggles you have undergone in life. I have to tell you I cried reading this as so much of what you wrote exactly mirrored my experiences with PID. I have been so sick for so many years, and was on 14 medications for asthma, had sinus surgery, and the list could go on and on. I was seeing 9 specialists for all kinds of medcal issues before I was diagnosed. I am now getting IVIG and it has helped me immensely though I still struggle with symptoms. I wish you all the best. Take care,

I am sorry, you, also have struggled with PID. It's one of those diagnoses that goes unrecognized for years, and we are forced to have to continue to push on, looking for the "answer" as why we feel so badly and are so sick. At times I actually wondered if I was a hypochondriac! I'm so glad for you that you're finally getting IVIG and feeling a bit better.

Once you get into the rhythm of things, you may want to consider SCIG as you can do it at home, on your own schedule and it doesn't tie you down to going to a facility. I've heard many who go to SCIG find that they don't get that nasty feeling of crashing before their next infusion, and they feel more even-keel doing it on a weekly or twice weekly basis. Please keep in touch as I'd love to hear how you're doing!
God bless!
